New tracks to provide challenges in 2024 Australian Kart Championship

The 2024 SP Tools Australian Kart Championship will give drivers several new challenges with new circuits in Oakleigh and Coffs Harbour being added to the roster. 

After a record-breaking 2023 series, which saw an average approaching 400 entries and a maiden visit to Western Australia, the growth of the Championship is expected to increase even further next year.

The choice of rural venues such as Coffs Harbour on the mid-north Coast of New South Wales and Emerald in Central Queensland provide massive economic booms to those areas with the influx of competitors, teams and support crews.

Although not confirmed by organisers, it is anticipated that the Emerald event may be conducted under lights, with a world class lighting system being installed at the track.

The Bolivar Kart track in northern Adelaide will begin proceedings at the end of February. After a recent extension, it is the first challenge racers will face.

The Eastern Lions club at Puckapunyal is a known quantity to most competitors making its Championship return in two years before heading north to kick winter off at Emerald.

Coffs Harbour has never hosted a multi-round Australian Championship event previously (it has hosted multi-round national Rotax competition and other major events) – however having recently undergone an extension – the coastal holiday setting will be a welcome winter break for competitors.

The Championship decider will remain in Victoria as is tradition, however moves to the Oakleigh Kart Club. While having hosted stand-alone State and National Championships, it has never hosted a multi-round Championship event in the AKC era.  

2024 SP Tools Australian Kart Championship Calendar:
